Indulging in a cup of rich, decadent Hot Chocolate is my favorite drink over the holiday season. Now I am not speaking about hot cocoa, when I say hot chocolate, that is exactly what I mean. The difference simply is hot cocoa is what many of us think of when we say Hot Chocolate. You open a package of powdered cocoa or make your own powdered mixture and stir that into hot milk. Growing up this is what I thought Hot Chocolate was too. Then, I had real Hot Chocolate at a little restaurant in New York and my mind was blown. Real Chocolate!
I love the freshness of an Agua Fresca drink, the issue I find with most is the contain a large amount of refined sugar. Experimenting in my kitchen I found that Dates are a lovely replacement for refined sugar. It adds the sweetness to the drink, while also providing fiber, vitamins, and minerals to aid in digestive health.

To enhance this old remedy, I like to select tea’s that have health-promoting benefits. Dandelion tea is known to help reduce liver congestion, gently cleanse the bladder and flush toxins from your kidneys. This is thanks it’s significant amounts of vitamins A, C and D, zinc, iron, magnesium, and potassium. Dandelion tea is also being studied for its benefits in balancing blood sugar and in weight loss.
13.5 grams of plant-based protein make this smoothie a quick and easy energy booster. It boasts just over 9 grams of dietary fiber that aids your digestion and toxin removal.

One of the liver’s primary functions is detoxification of both endogenous (from inside the body) and exogenous (from outside the body) substances. Its detoxification system includes enzymes that help the breakdown of things such as heavy metals, drugs, preservatives, industrial chemicals, hormones and non-beneficial intestinal microorganisms.
